Soaring over the existing trees in a zoo, this geodesic dome forms an aviary with ample airspace for its feathered inhabitants. Steel netting is stretched over the 60 metre diameter grid of geodesic struts. The result is an exciting space where visitors may go in search of the fascinating avian species along a meandering walkway in a figure of eight pattern. The geodesic structure makes it possible to erect an extremely light and transparent dome, which is a significant advantage for a large aviary.
